A Louisiana lawyer encountered the legal repercussions of hiring and paying a friend to perform courthouse work without proper approval when a divided Louisiana Supreme Court handed down a one-year-and-one-day suspension March 25 for his misconduct as interim chief deputy clerk at the New Orleans First City Court.
