The motion from the Chicago U.S. Attorney’s office, was made shortly after U.S. District Judge Thomas Durkin issued a $2 million judgment on Monday, freezing the assets of Girardi and his firm, Girardi & Keese. Durkin also said he would refer the matter to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, calling it a possible “serious ethical violation, probably illegal.”
